Bishop Salter Update- Victory Over 2020 As We Move Into 2021

Happy New Year Family,

The Scripture that has been ringing in my heart in the last 24 hours has been John 14:1,  “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” (NKJV)

Despite the terrible riots and assault on the Capitol by an angry white mob, I’m still happy it's 2021. Why? God is still on the throne, and He has ushered in a new season of leadership. Yesterday, the good people of Georgia delivered a majority to the Democratic party. I’m less concerned about what happened yesterday than I am focused on what the new leadership will do with the power. I will be praying for President-Elect Biden and Vice President-Elect Harris more than any other team in history because they are inheriting America at its worse. I believe God will use them to bring great healing to our land.

I also want to thank the incredible teams at Impact Church. We had to pivot laboriously toward online ministry and the hard work of our production team led by Pastor Shawn Frazier, with Jocelyn Brown, Kollette Taylor, and Beatrice Jackson. They allowed us to stream live and worship as a family every week, reaching an average of 2,500 people. Their efforts were boosted by Sherri Jones's ministry, our marketing director, who tripled our website traffic from 13,000 visits in 2019 to 36,000 in 2020! Our increased reach is also why more than 120 people gave their life to Jesus at Impact Church in 2020, which is more than the three years prior. Let’s not forget the weekly devotionals by Pastors Shamar, Tyanna, Carolyn, Dan, Chentel, and Shawn that also lifted your spirit and almost broke Facebook with over 390,000 impressions. Finally, none of this would be possible without the unsung staff heroes that keep things running smoothly. Even though most don’t see what they do – Pastor Graham, Pastor Nancy, Trina Folkes, Lanae Ali, and Keith Blake are Godsends.

Most importantly, I want you to know how very proud I am of your faithfulness. You have sought after God, remained one church in many houses, and stayed focused through it all. I am grateful to pastor people that have resilience. Through all of the losses, you have gained strength, and God is increasing your faith. God is doing something family; we are anointed for this season.

Next Saturday, don't forget to tune-in to the Holy Consecration and ordination of our new pastors. Their ministry will be more incredible because they are being anointed in an unprecedented season. Please pray for them.

Lastly, if you have time, join me tonight at 6pm on The Whole Woman's "Quaran-Tea with Natalie McKenzie." I will be discussing my new book, “The Culture of Money,” and what Black people must do to secure their legacy. Just click here.

God bless you and see you Sunday at one of our two services.

Love,

Bishop Salter Update- Joy & Faith in The Midst of it All

Hello Family,

I pray you had a healthy and happy Thanksgiving! Yes, it was quite different for many of us, but we focus on the joy of life and faith to get us through these days. I ask that you keep our world and congregation in your prayers. We have members who are battling COVID-19, in fact, the most infections since the early days of the virus in March and April. I'm thankful to God because we are overcoming this challenge together. I'm also grateful for all the medical professionals working tirelessly to lower this dreadful disease's fatality rate. I remind us to trust in the Lord in all our ways, and He will direct our path forward.

Save The Date

Please mark your calendar on January 16, 2021, for the consecration of six new pastors: Shawn Frazier, Daniel Knight, Carolyn Knight, Chentel Pullins, Tyanna LeGrand, and Shamar Styles. These men and women have been training with me for nearly two years, and they have certainly proven their character and ministry, pulling us through this pandemic. I hope that you will join Bishop Ulmer, Bishop Moody, and I as we consecrate and license them into the ecclesial office of Pastor.

Buy Black

Thank you to those who joined me in patronizing the black-owned businesses in our congregation via our website. Buying Black is trending in a way that it never has before, even with people who may never have previously considered it. At Impact Church, I want to turn that trend into a lifestyle.

Economic justice and empowerment begins with investing our dollars in Black businesses! If Black people spend 10% more with Black businesses, it will create 1,000,000 jobs because, after the government, Black businesses are the largest employers of Black people.

This is my reminder to you that after social media efforts die out, buy BLACK. When the pop-up lists and websites are no longer being updated, buy BLACK. When celebrities and influencers have moved on to the next project, buy BLACK. This is a social justice everyone can participate in.

Final Thoughts

We have the most fantastic congregation. You are great people of faith. I am most proud to call myself your Pastor. God is challenging us to be His remnant people who remain steadfast amid chaos. He has promised to bless us as a remnant even when the rest of the world is unraveling. Thank you for honoring my leadership during this season.

Bishop Salter Update- We Are Family

Hello Family,

I know you're busy pivoting to prosper your families at home and intentionally increasing your faith, so I'll keep this note brief.

Care Makes Us Family

Pastor Dan Knight

Pastor Dan Knight

First, thank you again for the feedback you provided on our October Congregational Check-In survey. I'm glad to see so many of you want to find a way to serve and that you're doing well. If you indicated that you were struggling in any way and provided your contact information on the survey, Pastor Dan Knight and the care team will be touching base to assist. By the way, can we give a shout out to Pastor Dan's leadership and his team's dedication?

They have made had over 1,600 points of contact with members of our family during this pandemic. This means they provided calls, texts, wellness visits, prayer, counseling, and assistance at a phenomenal rate. Please, please, please, don't do life by yourself. I've seen so many people leave churches because they felt disconnected when they refused to respond to surveys, answer their phones, reply to church emails or texts, attend a small group or let anyone know they needed help. I hope you'll let us be there for you when you need us most.

Leadership

I'm sorry to announce that Pamela Frazier and Ryan Ali have resigned from the pastoral training program to focus on what God has instructed them to do in this season. We can all appreciate seasons changing. I honor their service and passion for Jesus. Please pray for them as God orders their next steps.

Thank you for trusting my apostolic leadership and helping me create a safe space for leadership development. As we seek to become a modern Antioch (a place where leaders are trained and released into ministry), I ask that your heart remain open to leadership changes.

We are also excited to announce some exciting leadership development steps for those of you interested in answering the call of God soon!

My New Book – The Culture of Money

Ok, this is a shameless plug. I need your help to get the word out about one of the most important works I've ever done. The Culture of Money is an ideology for creating sustainable Black wealth. It aims to build a Black wealth movement by adopting three community-shared values: know more, own more, and pass down more. Using the power of the Black family, Black churches, and Black community organizations, I lay out a real financial healing pathway. I have some major sponsors and endorsements for this book, a small group, podcast, and training classes that will bring economic freedom to people who need it most. The book will be available for pre-order beginning this Sunday, November 15, 2020, after my interview with Bishop Van Moody, airing at 6PM(CST)/7PM(EST). My simple ask is that you tune in on Sunday night with your family and friends by clicking here. I promise you'll learn a lot and be motivated to get involved in this movement that will soon sweep the nation.

So that was not as short as I thought it would be! I'll see you online for service Sunday morning at 8:30am & 10:30am (both EST) and at my virtual fireside chat with Bishop Van Moody on Sunday evening at 7pm(EST)!

Love you dearly,

Bishop

Bishop Salter Update-The Moment is NOW

Family,

2016-10-08-1475960765-8763440-istock_000019480077xsmall-thumb.jpg

God is good, and you are amazing! He continues to guide and provide, and you continue to walk forward in faith. On that note, let me say, “thank you, thank you, and thank you” for your faithful generosity and tithing. You have been a blessing to our staff and have allowed us to continue to serve our community with resources.

On another note, I’m having a ball preaching the series "NOW: How to Tune Into What God is Setting Up". This word has been brewing in me for a while, and it lines up with the prophetic theme of this entire season. In other words, if you peek into the message God is trying to send humanity behind the pandemic, protests, and economic news, what is He asking us? I believe God is asking, “Will you be faithful to me no matter what you go through? Will you be true to our relationship? Will you be faithful to Scripture?” I think each person and family must answer God. Ironically, He has even revealed that some Christians have made the physical church building a modern-day Golden Calf (Exodus 32:4). Without the ability to gather in a physical place, they have lost their bearing. They no longer feel God like they used to. However, Scripture teaches that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). This means that God is present wherever and whenever His people gather to praise Him; that He inhabits online; that He inhabits offline; that He inhabits at your home and your office. If you feel like you can’t feel God without gathering in a building, then the problem is your struggle to be faithful to your relationship with the Almighty – it is not the absence of gathering in a building. Family, I believe God is looking for trustworthy people. A remnant of people who will stay true to Scripture and relationship. A people who will worship wherever and whenever. A people like the Christians in the Book of Acts, who, without physical church buildings, the internet, cellphones, cars, or computers, worshipped God during a global crisis. They turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6) and grew exponentially (Acts 2:7). Trust me; I’m completely tuned in to what God is setting up for us and I’m trying to keep you focused on the NOW moment so that we boldly embrace our future. We are the remnant. We are one church in many houses. We are Impact!

The Pull-Up_orange.png

One final note. Tomorrow, Saturday, September 19th, I want to see every New Jersey member at our South Plainfield campus. I know you might have plans, but Lady Terri and I, along with our pastors and leaders, would love to have you drop by to say hello. It will only take you 5-15 minutes to pull up, receive your gifts, and greet us. If you are outside of New Jersey, make you register for the digital pull-up, and we will mail your gifts and meet you in a secure Zoom room. Maintaining a relationship requires sacrifice, so please make showing up a priority. Click this link for all the details you need for this fantastic meetup. Oh, I almost forgot, we only have a limited amount of gifts for both the online and offline pull-ups, so make sure you get there early before supplies run out. See you and your family Saturday!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Graduation is an important moment in the life of a person, it’s a passage from one stage in life to another. It’s more than just throwing a cap in the air, or dressing up, or getting an important piece of paper, it’s about celebrating achievements, being with the people you shared a part of your life with, being proud of your journey. In our eyes, the Class of 2020 is one of the most resilient graduating classes yet. They have had to endure extreme changes in their learning environments leading up to such a turning point in their lives, and have had to make sacrifices many have taken for granted- graduation trips, yearbook signings, and so much more. This is why we wanted to honor our graduates in a special way to show them that although they may not have had their big moment to walk across a stage, we still see them, we celebrate them, we support them, and we are proud of them! Most importantly, we are waiting with anticipation to see what the future holds for them.

Please feel free to leave your well-wishes for the Class of 2020 in the comments as they prepare to embark on their next journey in life.
